Welcome to the first edition of Regent Elevate for the new year! I’m Sean Kouplen, the chairman and CEO of Regent Bank. As we kickstart 2017, I want to share with you the secrets behind our success here at Regent Bank. We’ve experienced impressive growth, with an 18 percent annual increase since our inception eight years ago. In the past 12 months alone, we’ve grown by a remarkable 39 percent, leaving our competitors in the dust.

So, what’s our secret? Let me share a few ideas with you over the next few weeks that you can apply to your own business and even within your family to reach new heights.

Building Energy within Your Employees

One crucial factor in our success at Regent Bank is the emphasis we place on building energy within our employees. When you walk into a client’s place of business, you can instantly feel whether they are thriving or not. The energy levels within a company speak volumes, and it doesn’t take long to sense it. So, how do we cultivate an energetic and engaged workforce? Here are a few key strategies:

1. Remove Detractors

At Regent Bank, we believe that our employees are the backbone of our success. We go the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction. For instance, we provide free snacks because we value them more than having them pay a dollar for a drink or candy bar. Additionally, we equip them with the latest technology and equipment needed to excel in their roles. After all, asking someone to do a job and then giving them outdated tools is counterproductive.
